The Port of Astoria touches nearly every part of life on the North Coast—from jobs and industry to recreation, tourism, and transportation. The Port Commission plays a critical role in shaping its future.
This elected body oversees everything from the marinas and local airport, to the shipping terminals and commercial leases. Commissioners make high-impact decisions that affect economic growth, environmental responsibility, and public access to the waterfront.

THADDEUS HAS DECADES OF EXPERIENCE
A lifelong Oregonian and passionate steward of the Columbia River, Thaddeus brings decades of experience in hydro-power, irrigation, salmon habitat, tribal concerns, and commercial fishing. As a resident of Astoria, business owner, and recreational sailor, he understands the balance between economic growth and environmental responsibility.
His priorities as Port Commissioner include:

Thaddeus is committed to ensuring Clatsop County receives its fair share of federal funding to support infrastructure, economic development, and environmental sustainability.
DISTRICT 5
There are a total of 5 positions on the Port of Astoria Commission. Each of the seats is “at-large”. This means that everyone in Clatsop county votes for each seat up for election.
In 2025, seats 1, 2, and 5 have candidates vying for a spot on the committee. All of the candidates are committed to including everyone in the entire county, not just residents that live near the Columbia River.
